Meeting to Discuss Home Changes to Help Those with Dementia

The Marion County Council on Aging will be hosting Caregiver Connections on Thursday, May  2, 2013 with special guest speaker Dr. Lynn Ritter. Dr. Ritter is with the Northwest Ohio Chapter of the Alzheimer Association and her topic will be Extreme Home Make-Over.    She will address common-sense home modifications such as lighting, furniture placement, food safety, signage and more, with the intent of making the home safer for  someone dealing with dementia.

Caregiver Connections is a quarterly meeting sponsored by the Marion Council on Aging, to provide support and education for local caregivers and others interested in issues of caregiving and dementia.

There is no charge to attend, but reservations are limited and necessary.  This event will be held at the Council on Aging office, located at 125 Executive Dr.  Since the meeting takes place 11:30 am – 1 pm, lunch will be provided through the generosity of Kingston Residence of Marion.
