Duffey Captures Best of Show at Popcorn Fest Arts Show

Best of Show winner by Virginia Duffey titled “Sea Captain”Judging for the 33rd annual Marion Popcorn Festival Juried Fine Arts Show was held September 5, 2013 at Marion City Hall. Winning this year’s Best of Show was a pastel by Virginia Duffey titled “Sea Captain”.

Winners in the Painting category included:

Second Place:  Barbara Fitzgerald-“Calling in the night”-oil
Third Place:     Michael Schurch-“Cherry IV”-acrylic
Merit 1:           Jeffrey Roberts- “Harvest”-acrylic
Merit 2:           Rich Timmons-“Mother Earth”-oil

Winners in the Drawing category:

First Place:      Betty Newcomer -“Buddy”-pastel
Second Place:  Ruth Etzwiler-“Mums”-pastel
Third Place:     Mark Ringlepaugh-“Presidents”-colored pencil
Merit 1:           Tim Gorenflo -“Doggie Boy and Critter”-pastel
Merit 2:           Patty Brown-“untitled”-

Winners in the Other – Two Dimensional category were:

First Place:      Lynn Roush-“Corola”-photography
Second Place:  Katie Chivington-“Flutter + Free”-photography
Third Place:     Nancy Earl-“Mother Ganges”-photography
Merit 1:           Lynn Roush-“Oafusie”-photo
Merit 2:           Patty Brown-“Shutterbug”-photography

Winners in the Other – Three Dimensional category were:

First Place:      Brenda Timmons-“untitled”-zen tangled mannequin
