Would you like to learn how to communicate better with your child while having fun? Strengthening Families Program, for families with children ages 10-14, is now accepting registrations.
The sessions are designed to help youth handle frustration, resist peer pressure, appreciate parents/caregivers, and get along with others. Parents and caregivers discuss what youth are like at different ages, making rules and consequences, how to resolve problems with youth, and ways to show love and support. The program includes family discussion and games, dinner, childcare, parent discussions, and youth activities.
The sessions begin on October 3, 2013 and will run for seven weeks. Families will meet on Thursdays from 5:30pm to 7:45pm at 317 West Church Street (the Salvation Army building).
The program is free. To register or to find out more about the Strengthening Families Programs, call 740-223-3075 or e-mail [email protected]. Funding for this program is provided by Marion County Family Courts.
