Marion Flower Shop to Give Away 2,500 Roses for Good Neighbor Day

Good Neighbor DayResidents of Marion will be encouraged to meet each other and develop new friendships when Marion Flower Shop hosts the 19th annual Good Neighbor Day event on Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Beginning at 8:00am, Marion Flower Shop, 1045 East Church Street, will give away 2500 roses in bunches of a dozen, absolutely free to anyone who visits the shop, while supplies last.

However, there is one catch. Anyone who picks up a dozen free flowers will be asked to keep just one of the flowers for themselves and give the others away to 11 different people. The idea is to spread goodwill and friendship in the community.

“We hope that the people of Marion will be able to get acquainted with new people or will renew an old friendship during Good Neighbor Day,” explained Nathan Noblit of Marion Flower Shop. “We hope to help create a friendlier, more caring and compassionate world, starting right here in Marion.”

Each year, Marion Flower Shop asks a local community organization for their support in the preparations for this event. Because of the September 11th date this year, joining the efforts at Marion Flower Shop will be the United States Air Force, who will pitch in to help make FTD Good Neighbor Day a “truly successful and neighborly celebration.”
