Marion Police Arrest Two for Burglary

Marion Police DepartmentThe Marion Police Department says they arrested two suspects after receiving a tip they had been involved in storage unit burglaries. At around 5:00am Tuesday, December 10, 2013, officers were following up on that tip from the public when they went to an apartment in the 1400 block of Southland Parkway.

Working together with deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, officers say they located the two suspects and recovered a large amount of stolen property that was allegedly stolen from multiple storage units on Bellefontaine Avenue late Monday night.

Codey Messer, 19, of 962 Bennett Street, was arrested on charges of Breaking and Entering and Safecracking. He was taken to the Multi-County Correctional Center to await the filing of formal charges.

A juvenile accomplice is also being charged with similar charges. Other charges against both subjects are still possible once the investigation is concluded.
