Snow Days at the Marion Family YMCA is a new, members-only program that provides child care on days when Marion City Schools are forced to cancel for the entire day. The Y offers Snow Days from 8:00 am to 5:15 pm, providing “fun, safe activities” for children ages 5-12. The program runs from December 1, 2013 to March 31, 2014.
Kids must bring their own lunch and should wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Activities such as crafts and games will be offered in an environment that puts an emphasis on the kids’ nutrition and character development. This program will not include swimming or pool activities.
Registration is capped at a maximum of 15 students per day. Participants with “Snow Day Insurance” are guaranteed a spot until 9:30am. Other spots will be awarded on a first-come-first-serve basis.
The daily fee for the Snow Day program will include $10 for members of the Y, or $5 for Snow Day insurance members.
The Marion Family YMCA is not open during Level 3 Snow Emergencies. If a Level 3 Snow Emergency is declared in the middle of a Snow Days at the Marion Family YMCA program day, participants must be picked up within 30 minutes of notification. The Marion Family YMCA will close 30 minutes after a Level 3 Snow Emergency is declared.
