The LaRue Community Alliance is organizing a pair of public meetings on January 3, 2014 to discuss flooding of the Scioto River. Anyone affected by the flooding is encouraged to attend, especially residents of LaRue.
The meetings are scheduled for 2:00pm and again at 6:30pm at the Scioto Valley Fire Department. The separate meeting times are only to ensure maximum attendance and the same issues will be covered at each meeting.
Barbara Stofcheck, a member of the alliance, said that this group has been meeting since September and have centered much of their efforts on studying, discussing, and gathering data on the Scioto River flooding issue. They say it appears the flooding has become more frequent and comes with costlier consequences to the villages of LaRue, Green Camp and Prospect.
Stofcheck said the meetings on Friday are being held in preparation of a meeting arranged by State Representative Dorothy Pelanda and Steve Ferryman later in January.
If you can, Stofcheck encourages attendees to bring their own chair to make sure there is enough chairs.
