Members of the Associated Builders and Contractors Central Ohio Chapter, received recognition from their peers within the commercial construction industry at the annual Associated Builders and Contractors Safety and Scholarship Awards Banquet held recently in Columbus, Ohio.
The Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) awards are granted by ABC National based on submitted applications. The awards are based on 20 key elements of a contractor’s safety program that includes safety policies, employee commitment and training, management commitment, and budgeting.
The awards are given in four categories; silver, gold, platinum and diamond. Cogburn Electric received the Platinum Award for 2013.
As the recipient of the Platinum Award, Cogburn Electric is now eligible to enter ABC’s National Safety Excellence Award (NSEA) competition and the Construction Users Roundtable’s Construction Industry Safety Excellence (CURT/CISE) award competition.
“We continuously strive for excellence in all that we do at Cogburn, especially when it comes to employee and customer safety,” owner Scott Ruth said.
