Scott Knowles, Esq., has been promoted to chief executive officer of Sims Brothers Recycling. He had served as vice president of regulatory affairs and compliance, general counsel. The announcement was made by Gary Sims, president and chairman of the board.
Knowles will take a hands-on role in the company, managing the administrative aspects and resources of the organization as well as developing and implementing high-level corporate strategies, according to a media release.
Previous to joining Sims Brothers Recycling, Knowles worked for ten years with Keis George LLP, a legal firm specializing in insurance litigation, serving his last five years as Office Manager for the Columbus branch. He is a graduate of the University of Dayton, studying law at Cleveland Marshall College and receiving his Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo College of Law. Knowles is a member of the Ohio State and Columbus Bar Associations.
“Sims Brothers Recycling is a family business, and I’m delighted to have my son-in-law Scott take the reins of the company at this time,” said Sims. “He is well respected by his co-workers because of his own unique blend of experience, personality, drive and spirit.”
