The public is being invited to a free open house on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 to view the Vietnam War Experience Traveling Museum in Marion. The open house runs from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at American Legion Post 584, 142 Olney Avenue.
The museum is operated by Chuck Van Voorhis and other volunteers. It includes hundreds of items of memorabilia from the Vietnam War era, including weapons, uniforms, and even an extensive doll collection.
The museum will also be hosting school visits this week from students at Pleasant, Harding, Ridgedale, and Elgin. Students get a first-hand look at the time period, but also learn about the war from some of the people who were there.
For more information or to schedule a tour for your group, call Van Voorhis at 740-389-1394.
