Republicans of the Month have been named for January and March by the Marion County Republican Central and Executive Committee, John Matthews, local chairman announced. They are Margie Holliday and Jude S. Foulk
January’s selection was Holliday, a retired educator who taught 15 years at the former Taft Middle School and 18 years in the Toledo area schools. Retiring from teaching in 1994, she then was an employee of Sears for 7 years.
She holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Toledo and a Master of Education degree from Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati
She is a sustaining member of Junior Service Guild, and has served as Vice President of the Marion County Republican Women’s Club. She has served also as precinct committeeman on the Central and Executive Committee.
Foulk, a candidate for the May primary, is seeking the Republican Party committee chairwoman’s seat in Ohio’s 26th District of which Marion is a part.
She currently is business manager for Marion Ob/Gyn. Recently, she was appointed to The Board of Trustees of Marion Technical College, and holds memberships in the Ohio State University Alumni Association, The OSU Buckeye Club and Marion Area Chamber of Commerce.
Foulk previously served as secretary of Marion County Republican Party’s finance committee and a former member of of the Republican Presidential Roundtable Committee. She formerly held membership in Twig II of Marion General Hospital and also was secretary of Twig Council.
The former teacher has a Bachelor’s degree in Early and Middle Childhood Education, and taught second and third grades in the Jefferson Local Schools in West Jefferson, where she was instrumental in helping to develop a gifted program and served on the curriculum committee.
The Bucyrus native, resides in Marion with her husband, David, and the couple has three grown children and two grandchildren.
