Karen Ransbottom Colcord has been voted April Republican of the Month, it was announced by Marion County Republican Chairman John Matthews.
She was selected by the GOP Central and Executive Committee. Her expertise is working with the local young Republicans and the college-age group.
Colcord is a member of the Marion Republican Party, GOP Women’s Club, Tea Party Patriots as well as the local Marion Tea Party.
She returned to Marion after retiring from Walt Disney World, Orlando, where she was a senior decorator and maintained parade floats, the ordering, instillation and maintaining of seasonal decorations as well as attraction props, floral arrangements and oversaw restaurants. She assisted in the planning and ordering of supplies and directed the set up of Disney conventions.
She and her husband, Ed, who retired from Disney also, have two children and three grandchildren and a 4th expected.
