Marion Mayor Scott Schertzer is announcing that City Departments will be closed on Monday, May 26, 2014 in observance of Memorial Day.
- All departments in City Hall will be closed on Monday, May 26th. Offices will be open for normal business on Tuesday, May 27th.
- Sanitation crews will not collect trash, recycling, or yard waste on Monday, May 26th. Residents who normally have sanitation services on Monday are asked to have their collections at curbside by 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27th. Crews will collect both Monday and Tuesday’s refuse on Tuesday, with the possibility that some of Tuesday’s collection could extend into Wednesday, May 28th.
- Marion Area Transit will be closed on Monday, May 26th. Normal hours of operation will resume on Tuesday, May 27th.
- Marion Senior Center will be closed on Monday, May 26th. Marion Senior Center will re-open for normal business on Tuesday, May 27th.
- Necessary services including fire, police, and airport will operate as usual.
In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, all divisions of Marion Public Health will be closed on Monday, May 26th. The closing will include the WIC office and the Environmental Health, Public Health Nursing, Vital Statistics and Administrative Divisions.
The Marion County Building and Courthouse will be closed on Monday as well.
