New Bloomington Man Killed in Single Vehicle Crash

Ohio State Highway PatrolTroopers from the Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a one-vehicle crash on Thursday that claimed the life of a New Bloomington man. The crash occurred on State Route 203 north of milepost 4 at approximately 5:38 P.M. on May 8, 2014.

The Patrol reported that preliminary investigation indicated 59 year-old David E. Gay, of New Bloomington, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on State Route 203 when he drove off the right side of the roadway and struck a pole.

Gay, who was not wearing a safety belt, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Marion County Coroner Dr. Marc Comianos.

The State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Pleasant Township Fire Department, and Med Care Ambulance Service.

This crash remains under investigation.
