Local Kids Learning New Skills at RAMTEC Summer Robotics Camp

robotics campThe third annual RAMTEC Summer Robotics Camp is underway this week at RAMTEC on Tri-Rivers Career Center’s Campus. 38 students from area high schools and middle schools are learning to build and program robots during the three-day camp sponsored by the Honda Foundation and RAMTEC.

Ritch Ramey, RAMTEC Coordinator and one of the instructors, said participants also have the opportunity to operate FANUC Industrial Robots and see the new Sky Rise Vex Robotics contest in action.

The objective of the event is to create interest in careers in Advanced Manufacturing, Robotics and Engineering.

Along with Ramey, instructors include: Mark Robinson, Harding; Kristi Matlack, North Union; Dave Sieg, Ridgedale; and Brandon Crisp, Grant Middle School.
