The Marion County Fair will be back for their 164th season Monday through Saturday, June 30, 2014 through July 5. Starting off this year’s fair on Monday will be Canned Food Day, Ladies Day and Senior Citizens Day. Free admission for these groups will be offered between 8:00am and 2:00pm.
One of the new highlights this year is part of the National Tractor Pull which will include the Grand National Modified Class. According to Candy Tripp, Fair Manager, this is the one one of its type in the area. Advanced tickets, including pit passes, can be purchased at O’Reilley’s Auto Parts.
“We have a new Picnic Pavilion this year which will be a nice addition for many of our fair events,” said Tripp.
The annual fireworks will be held on Friday, July 4, at dusk. Prior to the fireworks, Almost Famous, a rock band out of Cleveland, will be performing at the grandstands.
“It takes a community to bring this annual event together,” explained Tripp. “We appreciate the many sponsors, volunteers, and fair participants who help to promote the event.”
Daily Gate Admission is $7 with children 10 and under admitted free. Admission does not include rides.
A Weekly Pass is $20 per person (does not include rides). Passes may be purchased in advance at the Fair Board Office in the Coliseum.
