Kenneth Stiverson, Caledonia, was selected as May Republican of the Month by the Marion County Republican Central and Executive Committee.
The Viet Nam veteran has served as Marion County Commissioner since January 1, 2011, and is a candidate for re-election in November. Active in the community, he is a member of the Marion County Farm Bureau, DKMM Solid Waste Board of Directors, Regional Planning Commission, Ohio Heartland Community Action Committee, Farmland Planning Committee and Marion Hardin Jail Commission.
The Commissioner has been on the Marion County Fair Board for 17 years and currently serves as chairman of the Marion County Junior Fair Livestock Sale Committee and has served as Junior Fair Board advisor for 28 years.
A former president of the River Valley Board of Education, Stiverson, a 3-term member of the board, is president of the Marion County Republican Club and Claridon B precinct committeeman.
A retired 40 year employee of Whirlpool Corporation, he is a graduate of Ridgedale High School and attended The Ohio State University.
A 50-year member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, now attending Dayspring Wesleyan Church, he and his wife, Janet, have two daughters and five grandchildren.
