The Ohio State University at Marion Office of Career Services is in the process of preparing for the first ever part-time job fair. The job fair is slated for 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in the Alber Student Center Gymnasium.
Organizers say this two hour time frame will allow not only college students to participate, but also local high school students without missing class time.
According to Coordinator of Career Services, Will Smith, many students need to work to help finance their education and living expenses. Because of this, it makes sense to provide an avenue for them to seek out employment in the part-time job industry, while they are working towards a degree to pursue their career.
Employers who hire to fill part-time positions or internships are welcome to register for this free event by clicking here. Table space is limited and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Students who anticipate attending this free event are suggested to bring copies of a resume to make a positive impression on employers, pens and pencils for completing applications, as well as a list of former employers with names, addresses, and phone numbers. Those in attendance are urged to dress in clothing that will make a positive impression on employers.
“Shorts, tank-tops, athletic gear, flip-flops, and such do not project the image employers look for,” said Smith.
“Dress to impress,” he added.
