marijuana plantsOn September 3, 2014, members of the MARMET / METRICH Drug Task Force with the assistance of BCI Agents, and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office conducted a one day preplanned marijuana eradication operation.

This type of operation is conducted all around Ohio involving several different agencies. Using a helicopter from Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, which is assigned to BCI & I Eradication team, members of the MARMET Drug Task Force said they were able to collect 102 Marijuana plants county wide.

All the plants were removed from local cornfields, and the Marijuana plants will be destroyed.

A single Marijuana plant can produce about 1 pound of marijuana with an estimated street value of $1200 to $2000 per pound.

“With heroin and other highly dangerous drugs making the headlines, detectives wanted to maintain their focus on all drugs being used and grown in Marion County,” stated Lt. Chris Adkins. “Overall, it was a very successful day.”
