Troopers from the Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a three vehicle injury crash that occurred on Monday, October 20,2014 at approximately 3:40 pm on US 23 at the intersection of Linn Hipsher Road in Marion County.
The crash involved a silver 2005 Chevy Trailblazer driven by Thomas L. Taylor, age 76, of Marion, Ohio. Also involved was a red 2004 Jeep Cherokee, driven by Janet I. Dunbar, age 63, of Bucyrus, OR, and a red 2010 Dodge Ram driven by Michael B. Roush, age 50, of Forest, OR.
The Patrol says Taylor was eastbound on Linn Hipsher Rd. approaching the intersection of US 23. Dunbar was northbound on US 23. Roush was stopped westbound on Linn Hipsher Rd. at US 23. Taylor failed to yield from a stop sign on Linn Hipsher Rd. and was struck by Dunbar. Taylor was forced off the right side of the road into Roush’s vehicle.
Taylor was transported from the scene by Med Care EMS to Marion General Hospital. Michelle Powers, age 63, of Bucyrus, OH, who was a passenger in the Jeep Cherokee, was also transported from the scene by Marion Twp. Fire and EMS to Marion General Hospital.
Other passenger involved were Nancy Knell, age 65, of Bucyrus, OR and Mary Harriter, age 57, of Bucyrus, OH, all were passengers in the Jeep Cherokee.
The Patrol says Taylor was cited for failure to yield from a posted stop sign.
