Early Election Results for Marion County

Vote ButtonMarion County voters have once again said no to tax levies for Tri-Rivers Career Center (60.81% against) and Marion County Board of Developmental Disabilities (59.4% against).

The results of the 2014 General Election is not official until provisional ballots cast Tuesday are verified and the Marion County Board of Elections votes to certify. Even so, the number of provisional ballots that could be included in the final results are not enough to change any of the races or issues.

River Valley voters also said no to their levy request (58.6% against), but Pleasant voters said yes (60.64% for). Levies for Battle Run Fire, Caledonia Village, and LaRue Village, Waldo Village, and the townships of Grand, Green Camp, Pleasant, Waldo, and Salt Rock all passed.

None of the local issues were close enough to require an automatic recount.

Marion County Commissioner Ken Stiverson has been re-elected with over 68% of the vote against Democrat Robert Whalen.

It was the same for Marion’s current State Representatives as 86th District incumbent Dorothy Pelanda soundly beat John Allen Babik and 87th District incumbent Jeff McClain defeated Jeffrey Lehart.

Hailing from traditionally safe Republican districts, U.S. Representative Jim Jordan, of the 4th District, and Pat Tiberi, of the 12th District, both won their re-election bids.

Marion County voters also overwhelmingly voted for John Kasich for Governor, Mike DeWine for Attorney General, and Dave Yost for Auditor. Local voters also approved Josh Mandel in his re-election race for Treasurer over Democrat Connie Pillich, but by a smaller margin than the other statewide candidates.
