The River Valley FFA recently competed in the Sub-District Parliamentary Procedure Contest. Parliamentary Procedure entails the proper way to run a business meeting.
During the contest, which includes eight members on the team, all except the President and Vice President receive an ability they must complete. For example, they could be given “Recess”, or “Division of the House”. They then must recite the opening ceremonies of an FFA Meeting, and discuss on various main motions to earn points for their team. Also, the secretary must take accurate minutes throughout the meeting.
The entire meeting must be finished in under only fifteen minutes.
Members of the team included Sarah Longo, Emma Nicholson, Trisha Seckel, Brock Faulkner, Emma Heimlich, Josh Strine, Christie Longo, and Amy Poorman.
The River Valley FFA team placed fifth at the Sub-District level, and is looking forward to next year.
