Voters say no to River Valley, approve two other issues

Voters once again said no to a new tax levy for the River Valley School District during the Special Election held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Voters however approved tax renewals for the Village of Prospect and the Marion Township Fire Department.

The following are the final, unofficial results reported by the Marion County Board of Elections. Officials said there are just two provisional ballots to verify before the final numbers are certified in the coming days.

  • Village of Prospect Levy
    36 For – 70.59%
    15 Against – 29.41%
  • Marion Township Fire Levy
    393 For – 57.46%
    291 Against – 42.54%
  • River Valley School District Levy
    706 For – 45.08%

This year’s election was especially small as there were no contested primary races to be decided.
