Comedy show to benefit Safety City program

Jay BlackComedian Jay Black will be performing at the Marion Palace Theatre on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 7:30. Proceeds from the show will benefit Safety City.

Safety City is a one week long, free program offered to kindergarten students of Marion County. The program teaches techniques to keep them safe in our society and on the street when riding a bicycle or walking.

Jay Black has performed at nearly 700 colleges nationwide. For his efforts on the college circuit, Jay has received numerous awards, including the 2009 Campus Activities Magazine Comedian of the Year, both the 2013 and 2014 APCA College Comedian of the Year, and the 2013 all-around College Performer of the Year.

Jay has worked extensively as a club comedian as well, appearing everywhere from Atlantic City (The Tropicana) to Las Vegas (The Tropicana, MGM Grand) to Los Angeles (The Improv, The Laugh Factory) to all points in between.

Jay has met with equal success as a writer. In 2013, Jay and his writing partner co-created their first TV show, Paulie, starring Paul Sorvino, Janeane Garofalo, and Michael Madsen). Further, Jay and Brian have written several movies, including How Sweet It Is, The Bus Driver, and Meet My Valentine.
