First annual BookMarket sale at Marion Library this weekend

BookmarksThe new supporting organization of the Marion Public Library, the BookMarks, will hold their first annual BookMarket on Friday and Saturday, June 12-13, 2015, from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Sunday hours are 1:00pm to 5:00pm.

They will be accepting cash, check (with picture ID) and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard). The sale is being held at the library’s main branch, 445 East Church Street in Marion.

Hardbacks are $3, trade paperbacks are $2 and mass paperbacks are $.75 or 2 for $1.  They will also have DVDs and videos for sale.  All children and teen books are $.50.

On Sunday books will be half off. Even so, organizers urge you to not wait because they will be putting new books out each day of the sale.

BookMark members can attend a Member-Only Preview for the BookMarket on Thursday, June 11, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.  They will be selling memberships at the door, so if you are not already a member you can join right then.

If you are already a member, bring your library card and pick up your colored dot. These dots identify you as a BookMark member.

There are different membership categories available.  They start at Basic – $10 (for an individual), Family-$25, Patron-$50 (for individual or family) and Sponsor- $100.  Patrons and Sponsors receive additional discounts on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the BookMarket.

You can learn more about the group and get an application online at www.marionohbookmarks.org. You can also call (740) 387-0992 for details.
