Marion Public Health kicks off “Just Walk In” immunization program

Marion Public HealthVaccines save lives, says Marion Public Health, and vaccinated children will not only be protected from disease but they help protect other children who are unable to get vaccinated for some other medical reason.

Marion Public Health (MPH) has made some changes this year to help assure Marion’s infants, children, and adults are able to receive the vaccines they need. The public no longer needs to make an appointment to see a nurse. You can now just walk in and they will do all the registration and insurance work while you’re there. You just need to bring your shot records and insurance documentation.

In addition to the walk-in clinic for vaccines, you can also walk in for TB screening and lead screening. Did you know that the majority of Marion’s children live in zip codes that have been designated by the Ohio Department of Health as having a high risk for childhood lead poisoning yet fewer than 20% of Marion’s children ages 0-6 are being screened for lead poisoning? MPH urges everyone to get their child screened.

Marion Public Health is located at 181 South Main Street in Marion. They are open from 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday. And, again, you no longer need an appointment. Just walk in.
