Marion Airfoils offering public chance to try out RC flying hobby

The Marion Airfoils, a radio-controlled model aircraft club, will be holding an Open House Fly-in” from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm this Saturday, August 22, 2015 (rain date is August 23rd) at the club’s airfield on Herr road located West of Whirlpool between SR 309 and SR 95 and East of Big Island.

The club will have computer flying simulators buddy boxes that will allow attendees to actually fly a radio controlled aircraft.  The club will also welcome those who just want to come out and watch.

Participants will get to see all kinds of radio control flying aircraft from helicopter’s and quad-copter’s to all kinds of airplanes and 3D flying aircraft.

The open house is free and open to the public. The Marion Airfoils will be providing hot dogs and drinks.

Persons who wish to become member may do so during the open house and that membership will be good for the rest of 2015 and for all of 2016.  For more information, contact Tom Danner [email protected].
