Historical Society holding annual Travel Through Time event

On September 19, 2015 from 10AM to 5PM and September 20 from 10AM to 4:30PM the Marion County Historical Society presents a walk through the 18th and 19th century at Sawyer-Ludwig Park  in Marion. Visitors can meet Native Americans, militia, settlers and soldiers as they step back in time with encampments, period food, and crafters.

Saturday, September 19:

  • 11AM Civil War trail
  • 1PM Civil War trail
  • 2PM Dulcimers of Peace Music
  • 3PM War of 1812 trail
  • 4:30PM War of 1812 trail
  • 5 :30PM Demonstrations & Camp close
  • 9PM  Night Fire event begins

Sunday, September 20:

  • 10AM Demonstrations  open
  • 10AM Join James Finley, Methodist Circuit Rider for a Church Service
  • 11AM  War of 1812 trail
  • 12:30PM War of 1812 trail
  • 1PM  Artillery Demonstrations
  • 2PM Heritage Music group
  • 2PM Civil War trail
  • 3:30PM Civil War trail
  • 4:30PM Event closes

Tickets for the Historic Trail are free and may be obtained at the Marion County Historical Society’s booth on the day of the event. Only ticketholders will be allowed on the trails, so be sure to pick up tickets.
