The Ohio State Highway Patrol said that Trooper Darrin D. Kinney was promoted to the rank of sergeant this week by Colonel Paul A. Pride, Patrol superintendent, during a ceremony at the Patrol’s Academy. Sergeant Kinney will remain at the Marion Post to serve as an assistant post commander.
Sergeant Kinney began his Patrol career in September 2003 as a member of the 141st Academy Class. He earned his commission in March of the following year and was assigned to the Wilmington Post. In 2004, he transferred to the Governor’s Residence Detail. In 2006, he transferred to his most recent assignment at the Marion Post.
