Selected as November Republican of the Month is Marilyn Dowler by the Marion County Republican Central and Executive Committee.
Her college studies were in elementary education and music at St. Olaf College in N. Field, Minnesota and Macalester College in St. Paul. She began substitute teaching when first arriving in Marion. Prior to that, she was a kindergarten teacher in Great Falls, Mt. and Columbus Public Schools.
The retired Marion homemaker is involved in the choir in Marion Citizens for Life as well as Operation Christmas Child. In addition, she is a Sunday school teacher, leads Outreach Children’s Choir and children’s musicals.
Dowler has three grown children and 10 grandchildren living on the east and west coasts.
