Local government schedules altered for 2016 Presidents’ Day

Mayor Schertzer is announcing that in observance of the Presidents’ Day holiday, offices in City Hall will be closed on Monday, February 15, 2016.

The following departments will operate as noted below:

  • Sanitation crews will collect garbage and recycling on Monday, February 15. Residents who normally have refuse collected on Monday are requested to have their collections at curbside by 7:00 a.m.
  • Marion Area Transit buses will not be operating on Monday, February 15. Normal hours of operation for bus service will resume on Tuesday, February 16.
  • The Marion Senior Center will be closed on Monday, February 15. As a result of this closure, Senior Center Transportation Services will not be available on Monday, February 15. All programs, activities, and transportation will resume on Tuesday, February 16.

Essential services including fire and police will operate as usual.

In observance of Presidents’ Day, Marion Public Health will be closed on Monday, February 15th.

The closing will affect all divisions of the Marion Public Health including the Administration, Vital Statistics, Environmental Health, Nursing, Emergency Preparedness, and WIC.
