Marion trooper promoted to Sergeant at the Bucyrus Post

Trooper Sean E. Carpenter was promoted to the rank of sergeant today by Colonel Paul A. Pride, Ohio State Highway Patrol superintendent, during a ceremony at the Patrol’s Academy. Sergeant Carpenter will transfer to the Bucyrus Post to serve as an assistant post commander.

Sergeant Carpenter began his Patrol career in September 2002 as a member of the 140th Academy Class. He earned his commission in February of the following year and was assigned to the Marion Post, where he earned a Certificate of Recognition in 2005. He was selected as Marion Post Trooper of the Year and served as a Field Training Officer in 2015. As a trooper, he also served at the Delaware a Post.
