Sheriff’s Office investigating shots fired into Amish homes

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two reports of houses in western Marion County being struck by gunshots. The incidents are believed to have occurred on March 20, 2016 at approximately 1:30am.

Both locations were on the same county road and both were members of the Amish community.

Investigators said that both homes were occupied at the time of the gunshots creating a very dangerous situation. They said it appears that a large caliber, high powered weapon was used.

A possible suspect vehicle was identified as a black pick up truck.
