Sheriff’s office seeks suspects following second Marion bank robbery – UPDATE

UPDATE: The Marion County Sheriff’s Office reports that Ronald Myles was taken into custody Friday evening in Dayton, Ohio. This investigation was a collaborative effort between detectives from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Marion Police Department, MARMET, the FBI, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Dayton Police Department. Both bank robberies will continued to be investigated until the appropriate charges are filed. Sheriff Bailey would like to thank all who who came forward today and assisted with this case.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a Marion man in connection with two bank robberies. The latest robbery took place Friday morning at Commercial Savings Bank, 279 Jamesway Drive in Marion.

At 8:46am the suspect entered the bank wearing a mask and bandanna on his head and displayed a handgun to employees. The suspect in Friday’s robbery was a black male, 5’10” tall, weighing around 170 pounds with short black hair.

Investigators said that after the robbery the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money in a 4-door silver Mercedes sedan with blacked out tinted windows. The silver Mercedes had its license plate and headlights covered up before and after the robbery. No one was injured during the robbery.

On June 4, 2016 the Commercial Savings bank on Barks Road was robbed in a similar fashion and investigators are determining whether these two incidents are related.

Law enforcement is actively looking for 34-year-old Ronald Myles as the suspect in the June 4 robbery. Myles has an active warrant for his arrest. Myles is a black male, 5’10” tall, weighing 155 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Myles has a tattoo of a name or handwriting on the right side of his neck. At the time of the June 4 robbery, investigators said that Myles was driving a black 2001 Mercedes sedan with Ohio registration FVN8094.

Sheriff Tim Bailey is asking the public for any information on the suspects’ whereabouts, but cautions everyone that both men may be armed and dangerous. If anyone has information on Friday’s robbery or learns either suspects’ whereabouts they are encouraged not to make contact with them but to call the Marion County Sheriff’s at (740) 382-8244 (option 2) and report his location.
