Palace Theatre showing Star Trek Beyond this weekend

STAR TREK BEYOND, the highly anticipated next installment in the globally popular Star Trek franchise, will play at the historic Marion Palace Theatre located in downtown Marion on August 5, 6, and 7, 2016.

Violet LeVoit with Rovi provides the following synopsis:

In BEYOND, Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) struggles with a personal crisis as he and the crew of the Enterprise are attacked by a dictator named Krall (Idris Elba). When an assault by Krall leads to the destruction of their starship, the team end up marooned on a remote planet inhabited by aliens both hostile and helpful. Simon Pegg, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Anton Yelchin and Karl Urban co-star. STAR TREK BEYOND is dedicated to both Leonard Nimoy (who passed away in 2015) and Yelchin (who died after filming concluded).

STAR TREK BEYOND is rated PG-13 for sequences of sci-fi action and violence and runs 2 hours. Show times are:

  • Friday, August 5 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 6 at 2 p.m.
  • Sunday, August 7 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Concessions are available including candy bars for $1 and 20 oz. Pepsi products, popcorn and boxed theatre candy for $2 each.
