State Street overpass to re-open early Monday evening

The Ohio Department of Transportation says that the State Route 4/423 bridge, better known as the State Street overpass in downtown Marion, will open Monday, August 29, 2016 at 5 p.m.

The bridge closed earlier this month after ODOT inspectors and engineers discovered some ‘bad’ concrete on the 51 year old structure.  In order to safely open the bridge to traffic, ODOT said that crews added new concrete to the supports that hold the bridge deck and patched some of the concrete on the roadway surface.
