Boomer Nights return to the Marion Senior Center

After a taking a holiday break during the summer months, the Marion Senior Center will once again be expanding their hours on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for Boomer Nights to accommodate the schedules of Baby Boomers and other seniors working during the day.

The center is introducing two new classes on Thursday evenings. Yoga will be hosted by Jim Wellhauhen from 6:15-7:30 pm. Jim is a certified Yoga instructor who also hosts classes at the YMCA. Yoga mats will be provided if you do not have one.

Acrylic Painting Classes are being hosted by Teresa Howell from 5:30 – 8 pm. Teresa is an accomplished artist who will not only instruct, but also supply all of the paints, brushes, easels and acrylic boards necessary for the class. Cost is $25 per project. The class is perfect for the beginner, as well as more experienced participants.

All programs begin at 6 pm and are free to members, unless otherwise noted. The complete evening schedule is as follows:

Tuesday Programs include:

  • Tai Chi (Steve & Marlene Renick, Instructors)
  • Curves® for Women Arms & Balance (Cindi Bentley, Instructor)
  • Texas Hold ‘Em (Carolyn Stockdale, Instructor)
  • ‘Ladies Only’ Pool League (Center Staff)
  • Open Exercise Room

Thursday Programs include:

    *$25 per painting, which includes all materials
