On September 30, October 1 and 2, 2016, the Palace will present the romantic drama ‘The Light Between Oceans,’ starring Academy Award nominee Michael Fassbender (Steve Jobs, 12 Years A Slave) and Academy Award winner Alicia Vikander (The Danish Girl). Rachel Weisz co-stars in this adaptation of the bestselling novel by M.L. Stedman.
Tom (Fassbender) is a World War I veteran who takes a job as a lighthouse keeper on an isolated island off the shore of Australia. Isabel, desperate to have a child, endures several miscarriages and fears she may never become a mother. Her prayers are answered when a lifeboat washes ashore with a newborn inside. The couple happily raises the baby girl as their own, but years later, they discover the child’s true parentage and are faced with the moral dilemma of their actions. ‘The Light Between Oceans’ is rated PG-13 for thematic material and some sexual content.
