Fall colors reaching peak around the state

This is the weekend to get out and see fall color around the state as near peak and peak conditions are being reported, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).

“There has been a huge amount of color change around the state in the past week triggered by the cooler, more seasonal temperatures,” said Ohio Fall Color Forester Casey Burdick. “A few places are still lagging, but you don’t have to go too far to find nice fall color.”

The northern and central portions of the Buckeye State should see near peak and peak conditions this coming weekend while southern Ohio is also seeing near peak conditions. The maples have now fully developed their myriad of colors, and the hickory is showing its golden hues.
