Marion Goodwill celebrates their stories at annual meeting

Stories of GoodwillMarion Goodwill’s Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet was held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. The event is held to reflect on the past year and to honor program recipients, volunteers, and community partners for their commitment to Goodwill’s mission.

“Stories of Goodwill” was the theme of this year’s event. The highlight of the evening was a video that shared the stories of several Goodwill program participants. Programs featured in the video included: Wheels-to-Work, Summer Youth, Work Experience, Accessible Housing, Affordable Housing, Opportunity Plus Program and our Summer Youth program with Opportunities for Ohioans’ with Disabilities.

Roughly 200 people were in attendance at this year’s meeting held at Tri Rivers Career Center. Those present included employees from the five counties, Goodwill board members, and community partners. The Certificate of Appreciation Award was given to I Heart Media for their support. Jeff Ruth, WMRN, accepted their award. Marion City Schools and Rushmore Academy both received a Community Partner Award for their commitment to our mission. Gary Barber, Marion City Schools Superintendent and Steve Vanderhoff, Director at Rushmore Academy, accepted their awards. Several Goodwill retail stores were recognized for their achievements in the past year.
