Six arrested for drug trafficking in Marion

On October 27, 2016, the METRICH / MARMET Drug Task Force with the assistance of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Marion Police Department, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol arrested six men in Marion for drug related offenses. The arrests wrap up a three month investigation into the sales of illegals narcotics in Marion.

The men arrested last week were indicted on October 20 by a Marion County Grand Jury with the help of the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.

As part of the arrest round up, MARMET with the assistance of the Marion Police Department, executed a search warrant at 263 ½ North Prospect Street in the City of Marion. Detectives arrested Karsavian Williams inside the apartment on his warrant on indictment and said they also seized $800 in cash and 37 doses of heroin.

“My commitment to MARMET and the valuable work they do will continue and their hard work does not go unnoticed,” stated Sheriff Tim Bailey. “As drugs continues to take a strong hold on our community, Marion County law enforcement will continue to arrest those involved in trafficking in drugs.”

MARMET, in an effort to add additional resources and manpower, added a member of the Ohio State Highway Patrol to the drug task force. This has opened up other avenues to help combat the heroin epidemic in Marion.

“We are all fighting this issue together as a community and adding additional detectives to MARMET will help our community. This is a fight we must fight together,” stated Marion Police Chief Bill Collins.

Arrested were:

  • DeAngelo White, 35, of Detroit, MI, for Trafficking in Heroin
  • Karsavian Williams, 21, of Detroit, MI, for Trafficking in Heroin, Possession of Heroin, and Trafficking in Crack Cocaine
  • Pierre Bell, 28, of Detroit, MI, for Trafficking in Heroin

  • Donald Eaton Jr., 55, of Marion, for Permitting Drug Abuse
  • Chad Friley, 31, of Marion, for Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs
