Marion YMCA hosting an indoor Triathlon in November

For the month of November, participants will have the opportunity to enter their mileage for the category of their choice and participate in the Marion Family YMCA’s Indoor Triathlon.

“This is a great opportunity to try something new, cross train and have fun during the fall’s cooler weather,” says Heather Wright, Wellness Director, Marion Family YMCA.

The event runs for the entire month of November and you have the opportunity to record your mileage during this time to complete the challenge. The categories include:

  • Trifecta Challenge – 8 classes, 5 mile walk and 80 minutes on any cardio or strength machine
  • Olympic Challenge – 1 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and a 6 mile run/walk
  • ½ ironman – 1.5 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 26.2 mile run
  • Ironman – 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run
  • Dry Ironman – 400 sets of stairs, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run

The rowing machine can replace swimming and classes can count toward running if you choose.  The challenge includes a t-shirt and the cost is $15 for members and $60 for non-members (this includes a one month membership for the month of November for non-members).

This event is sponsored by Silver Sneakers and the Marion Family YMCA.
