Catherine Arnold, 77, Mount Vernon, and formerly of Marion and Powell, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Country Court in Mount Vernon.
She was born on February 23, 1933 in Mount Vernon, Ohio to the late William H. and Nancy R. (Mercer) Sims.
Catherine was a homemaker who enjoyed all forms of the arts. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc church in Powell and a former member of St. Mary Church in Marion. Catherine enjoyed volunteering and card playing as well as family genealogy.
She is survived by her sons, Michael A. Arnold of Marysville and Roger C. (Susan) Arnold of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Shawn Michael, Ashley and Doug Arnold; many nieces and nephews.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband Charles R. Arnold, 2009; and a son, William Arnold, 1988.
Family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2010 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors, 347 West Center Street, Marion, Ohio with parish prayers at 5:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 3, 2010 in St. Mary Church with Fr. Michael Nimocks, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
