Charles Arthur Hans Newcombe, 23, of Prospect

Charles Arthur Hans Newcombe, age 23 of Prospect passed away early Friday morning, May 28, 2010 at home.

He was born June 20, 1986 in Columbia, South Carolina to Ralph Edwald and Gloria (Redlich) Newcombe who both survive in Prospect.

Hans loved his family.  His dad worked hard to provide for the family, including a good Christian education. His mother worked hard making their house a home. He was so thankful that she stayed home to take care of them.

His oldest brother led him to Jesus Christ when he was a child and he accepted Christ as his personal Savior.

He enjoyed many talks and fun times with his parents, his two brothers, Gregory Ralph Ian Newcombe, Lynchburg, Virginia; Nathan Andrew Joel Newcombe, Prospect; and his two sisters, Christabelle Joy Newcombe, Prospect; and Annabelle Gloria Newcombe, Prospect.

A closely knit family, his parents led them in family devotions (worship) every evening, after supper, while still at the table. He was so thankful that they ate every meal together as a family. The Lord Jesus Christ was really the Head of their home; He provided the bonding that held them together.

Hans, his third name, is what he went by. His parents ministered in Awana Clubs. Each one of their children began Awana when they were three years old and completed the program through high school, earning the Citation Award. His youngest sister has worked up to junior high Awana and is looking forward to completing the program through high school. He was so thankful for the Bible foundation he received through Awana and home school.  He appreciated the education he was receiving at Bob Jones University, where he was a sophomore in the Christian Ministry Curriculum. His family is serving in both Cornerstone Alliance Church and CCF Baptist Church.

Friends may call on Thursday, June 3, 2010 from 9 to 10 AM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Prospect.  Graveside services will follow at Prospect Cemetery at 10:30.  A memorial service will be held at the Cornerstone Alliance Church, 2010 Marion-Marysville Road, Marion, at 12 Noon the same day with Pastors Tim Miller and Steve Whitaker officiating.

Memorial gifts may be made to Awana (www.awana.org), 1 East Bode Road, Streamwood, IL 60107-6658.
