Janice A. Witzel, age 70, died unexpectedly Thursday, July 1, 2010 at her home.
She was born to the late Irene and Earl Fleming on July 17, 1939.
She married Stanley Witzel on November 18, 1962 at St. John (Windfall) Lutheran Church. Janice was a graduate of Harding High School in 1957. She had attended St. John Lutheran Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Dale, Darrell and Jack Fleming; and father-in-law, Herbert Witzel.
Janice is survived by her husband, Stanley, who she shared 47 years of marriage; twin sons, Jerry Witzel of Prospect, and Terry (Misty) Witzel of Marion; mother-in-law, Geneva Witzel of Cardington, Ohio; three sisters, Deloris Thompson, and Shirley (George) Cerny of Marion, and Joann (Larry) Uhl of Georgia; one brother, Doug (Sandy) Fleming of Marion; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Janice was a retired homemaker, and had worked in the office of Dr. Jack Smyth and the Marion Power Shovel. Janice enjoyed drag racing and had entered and won many “powder puff” races with her 64’ G.T.O. She also enjoyed NASCAR races, and liked to root for Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and recently for Kyle Busch.
In keeping with Janice’s wishes there will be no calling hours or services. Boyd-Born Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
