Fred Volz "Pantherman" died early Friday morning, July 30, 2010 while riding his motorcycle home from work.
He was 67 years old. He was an avid motorcyclist and loved riding his “trike” whether by himself or alongside his wife Roberta.
He was a member of the Goldwing Association, G.W.R.R.A, and the American Legion. Fred was retired from Honda.
Fred was born in Trenton, New Jersey December 10, 1942 to the late Frederick D. and Ann (Thurman) Volz. He was the loving husband of Roberta (Ruhl) Volz who survives in North Lewisburg; and father of Jeff Volz of Buckeye Lake, Ohio. He is also survived by a grandson, Jeremy Volz; step-daughter, Colleen (Carl) Layne of Prospect; step-grandchildren, Amanda and Aaron Layne of Prospect; sisters, Patricia (David) Masterman of Ventnor, New Jersey, and Debra (John) Gribbin of Clarksburg, New Jersey; sisters-in-law, Ronda (Scott) Hall, and Carol (Dan) Zeigler both of Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be no services held at this time. Burial will be later in Marion Cemetery.
