James E. Gilliam, 90, of Marion

James E. Gilliam, of Marion, passed away Friday morning, August 13, 2010 at Heartland of Marion at the age of 90.

He was born May 20, 1920 in Pikeville, Kentucky to the late Dewey and Maude (Ratliff) Gilliam. His wife, Elva Lowe, who he married August 29, 1941 in Pikeville, passed away April 24, 2010.

James had retired from Fairfield Engineering. He was also a member of Family of Love Old Regular Baptist Church.

James is survived by his son, Larry Dale (Brenda) Gilliam of Marion; three daughters, Ethel Marie Wheeler of New Bloomington, Joyce Gale Gilliam of Marion, and Jani Sue (John) Johnson of Marion; five grandchildren, Shawn Wheeler, Shannon (Don) Ingles, Shelley (Jason) Harrah, Logan Johnson, and Lacey Johnson; nine great grandchildren, Kolton, Fallon, Grason Ingles, Alyssa, Ava, Andon Wheeler, Jaxson, Lincoln, and Kennedy Harrah; his brother, Leo (Margaret) Gilliam of Marion; and three sisters, Jackie (Floyd) Boyd, Edith (Gary) Copeland, and Tiny Beth Gilliam.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by one son, Estill Lee Gilliam; and three brothers, Cecil, Charles, and John.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, August 15, 2010 from 4-8 PM at Boyd-Born Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Monday, August 16 at 10 AM at Family of Love Old Regular Baptist Church in Wyandot, Ohio. Burial will follow in Grand Prairie Cemetery in Brush Ridge. Pallbearers will be Shawn Wheeler, Jason Harrah, John Johnson, Logan Johnson, Don Ingles, Ron Allen, Ty Ryan Jackson, and Kolton Ingles.
