Jennifer L. “Jenni” Mulvey, age 56, of Marion, died Thursday afternoon, July 29, 2010, at her residence following a long illness.
On February 16, 1954, Jenni was born in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Gene E. Winters of Waterville and the late Patricia (Pierce) Winters.
She graduated from Robert S. Rogers High School in Toledo in the Class of 1971.
Jenni worked for many years at the Fahey Bank on Main Street in Marion in their operations center. She also worked part time at Kingston Residence of Marion, helping at the front desk.
On July 2, 1988, Jenni married her best friend and love of her life, Jeff W. Mulvey. Their romance started at a friend’s house during a 4th of July party, and continued to blossom through over 22 years of marriage.
Out and about in nature was always Jenni’s favorite place to be. Whether it be working out in the yard, relaxing on her sister’s boat, or camping at Tall Timbers in Port Clinton, outdoors is where she wanted to be.
Above anything else, Jenni treasured spending time with her family. She always enjoyed cheering her children to victory in whatever sports they were playing including basketball, football and swimming. For many years she was in a bowling league with her husband. Family gatherings and holidays were always very special times for her. She even enjoyed the occasional margarita with her family.
Jenni had a huge heart and would always put others before herself. She would see that everyone around her was happy, even if in doing so she was not that happy. Her family will miss her dearly, but will always have the memories of what an “awesome” wife, mother, grandmother, and friend she was.
Jenni will be dearly missed by her husband, Jeff of Marion; three children: Kimberly D. (Oscar Burkes) Woodard of Toledo, Derrick J. Mulvey of Marion, Kristi Lee Mulvey of Marion; two grandchildren: Jennasis “Jenna” Savage and Malia C. Burkes, both of Toledo; a sister, Tamra (Tom) Nuding of Marblehead; an aunt, Shirley Burnell of Maine; an uncle, Richard “Dick” Huffer of Toledo; a brother-in-law, Mike Mulvey of Toldeo; numerous nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a son, Matthew David Winters, and a brother, Ray Winters.
Jenni’s family will greet friends from Noon – 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion. Services celebrating her life will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Keith Irey officiating.
Rather than flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mulvey Family Memorial Fund, in care of Fahey Bank, to assist the family with funeral expenses.
