Willard C. Fassler, 81, died August 27, 2010 with loved ones at his side.
Born April 29, 1929 to the late Willard A. Fassler and Castoria (Wilson) Fassler.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 9 years, Bernice I. (Lama) Fassler, and his late wife, Harriet J. Fassler of 50 years.
He retired after 35 years of service as an electrician at plant 3 of Marion Power Shovel. He liked working on cars, making things out of wood, playing cards, and watching old westerns.
He will be greatly missed by his children, Donna Price, Ruth Beatty, Linda (Charles) Lohr, Willie (Billie) Fassler, Clarance (Pamela) Fassler; step children, Bernice (Mike) Martin, Ernie Lama, Gary (Kathy) Lama, Jim (Deb) James, Colleen (Mike) Adams, Jonathan (Gina) James, and Hugh James; 13 grandkids; 18 step grandchildren; many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He will also be missed by his brother, Don (Chris) Fassler of Marion; and sisters, Thelma (Dick) Wyatt and Betty Spriggs of Jackson, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Clarence E. Fassler, Jr.; son-in-laws, Gary L. Beatty, and James R. Price; two sisters, Louada Hessler, and Margaret Davis; two brothers, George and Frank Fassler; and a step-son, Lester Lama.
A special thanks to his physician, Dr. Sudesh Reddy, and the nurses at Marion General Hospital.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, August 31, 2010 from 10-11 AM at Boyd-Born Funeral Home followed by a service at 11 AM with Pastor Dwight Cimino. Burial will follow at the LaRue Cemetery.
