Emma Conley, age 58 of Mt. Gilead passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus following a sudden illness.
She was born on July 29, 1952 to the late Rex D. and Mary E. (Borders) Conley. Originally from the Marengo and Sparta area, she had resided in Mt. Gilead since 2000.
A true outdoorswomen, she was a lover of nature and a member of the Oakland Park Conservation Club near Marengo. She collected porcelain dolls and Indian mementos. She treasured time spent camping and spending time at the Oakland Park. However her greatest treasure was her grandchildren and family. Kind and gentle, simply put Emma loved life.
She is survived by son: Bill (Nadine) Carmickle, twin-daughters: Sherri Townsend of Mt. Gilead, Jerri Weese of Cardington, 7 Grandchildren: Gerid, Ryan, Will, Eric, Tori, Lynn, Amanda, 2 Great-grandchildren: Angelia and Hunter, 4 Brothers: Roger, Lewis, Danny, Eddie Conley, 5 Sisters: Dottie Conley, Lorrene Waldrep, Charlie Matthiesen, Evelyn Maldonado, Dorothy Royster, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a brother: Richard Conley.
A casual celebration of her life in nature will be held 5:00 p.m. this Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Oakland Park Conservation Club, 768 CR 26, Marengo, OH 43334. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Marengo.
